Andrew Birkeland is dedicated to practicing law in Colorado.  Andrew focuses his practice on family law and civil litigation.  Andrew enjoys helping families navigate through the happiest and most difficult situations in their lives, from family planning, including adoption and assisted reproductive technology law, to dissolutions and post-decree motions.  Andrew is a zealous advocate for his clients in the courtroom, always striving for the best results for his clients.

Prior to moving to Colorado in 2016, Andrew worked at a general practice firm in the greater Minneapolis/St. Paul area of Minnesota.  In Minnesota, Andrew handled a wide variety of cases, from family law and real estate issues to civil litigation and appeals to the Minnesota and South Dakota Supreme Courts.  Over the past five years, Andrew served on the boards of the Hennepin County Bar Association and the Minnesota Lavender Bar Association and was a member of the Minnesota Bar Association.

A native of North Dakota, Andrew earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota and his law degree from William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Andrew is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, the Douglas/Elbert Bar Association, the Colorado LGBT Bar Association, and is a part of Leadership Douglas County.  Andrew lives on a farm near Elizabeth with his husband where they are planning their family.
